Volunteer your Time

Volunteers who want to garden can get involved in several different ways. The EGP hosts ‘Group Gardening‘ drop in sessions every second and last Saturday of the month. Join a diverse group of gardeners in different gardens to work (and learn!) together. Group Gardening activities include spring clean-up, planting, weeding, some watering, harvesting, seed saving and fall clean-up.

If you are interested in volunteering on a more regular basis, please read the following volunteer job descriptions. When you find something that you are interested in email Emily at volunteer [at] ediblegardenproject [dot] com to find a time to chat about the position, and fill out an application form. We look forward to meeting you!

Edible Garden Project Ambassadors – Now Recruiting

The EGP is invited to attend lots of local and sustainability focused events throughout the year, and we have an amazing team of volunteers to help us share what we’re doing, provide resources, and get people involved!

Friends of Fed Up – Let’s plant, grow, harvest, and eat together!

Inspire school children to explore in the garden, learn how to grow fresh food, and make nutritious snacks to share with their family. The Edible Garden Project’s “Fed Up” program delivers interactive educational opportunities for children in K-6. Friends of Fed Up volunteers will receive training, enjoy a fun and supportive environment, and work on small teams with 3-4 students. We’re seeking volunteers available on the first Friday of every month from February to June 2012. Contact Emily if you are interested in joining the team - emily@ediblegardenproject.com

Communications Assistant – Now Recruiting

We need help telling the EGP story! If you’re skilled in communications outreach through traditional or new media outlets then you could make a big impact by joining our team.

What’s Growing On Blog Contributor - Now Recruiting

Our blog is a place where people come to learn about events in the community, opportunities to support advancing urban agriculture, and to pick up tips and tricks of organic gardening. We’re looking for people with a passion for communication & food issues to join our team of blog contributors.

Garden Working Group Intern – All Positions Filled (get on our wait list now for 2012!)

The EGP maintains five organic garden plots on the North Shore. As an intern, you will be working on a team of 3-5 people on managing one of our gardens. This includes planning, maintaining, and harvesting.

Harvest Delivery – Now Recruiting

Every weekend from May through September we pick up fresh local produce donated from vendors at the Farmer’s Market, and deliver it to a local social housing development. This delicious fresh produce is sorted and distributed to residents. We’re looking for friendly and helpful volunteers to pick up and drop off donated produce on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
