This is a self-guided tour through five private north shore gardens, with the added bonus of the EGP demonstration garden as the 6th location! Thursday evenings, 6:30-8pm: Join us every Thursday in August in installing the EGP demonstration garden beside Queen Mary School (235 West Keith Rd.) in North Vancouver. We are transforming a lawn into a productive winter garden!

June 3rd, 2008: Central Lonsdale Community Garden Open House
Tuesday, June 3rd from 6:30pm – 8:30pm
at Queen Mary Elementary School Gymnasium (230 West Keith Road).

The City of North Vancouver is looking to create a new community garden just west of the Queen Mary Elementary School, anticipated to open for Spring 2009. In the interim months, the City of North Vancouver is also looking to establish a temporary Edible Garden Project demonstration garden.

Please join City staff at this first Open House on the potential design and operation of the new Central Lonsdale Community Garden. Your thoughts and comments are needed to make this garden a reality.

May 31, 2008: Group Gardening Session #4 10am to noon. Meet other gardeners and help the EGP to get our warm season crops in the ground.

May 25th, 2008: Transform your Lawn: Pile It On. Convert a troublesome patch of lawn into an easy-care garden without digging in this hands-on workshop. (Held outdoors). Instructed by bicycling horticulturist Ryan Nassichuk. Sunday, May 25, 9:00 - 12:00, Location TBA. Please pre-register (604.990.3755)

**This workshop is part of a pilot program; participants will be asked to complete short pre- and post-questionnaires about their gardening practices.

May 3rd, 2008: Winter Food Gardening! Start planning your winter garden early this year; learn what to grow, and when to grow it so you can fill your garden with food year round! 1-2:30 pm at the Lynn Canyon Ecology Centre. Please pre-register at 604-990-3755.

April 26th, 2008: Group Gardening Session #3, 10am to noon. Meet other gardeners, and learn about spring gardening activities while helping to maintain the EGP gardens.

April 27th, 2008: The Garden Ecosystem, 1-2:30pm. Join Heather Johnstone at the Lynn Canyon Ecology Centre to learn how to create a garden ecosystem. Pre-registration required: 604-990-3755

March 29th, 2008: Group Gardening Session #2 10am to noon. Join the EGP in planting one of our gardens.

February 16th, 2008: Create a Kitchen Garden!
Join the EGP at the Lynn Canyon Ecology Centre in North Vancouver and learn how to create a kitchen garden!

February 9th, 2008: Backyard Fruit Tree Pruning Workshop with expert guest David Tracey. Now is the perfect time of year to learn how to maintain your backyard fruit trees. Join us from 10am to 11:30 at Keith Rd. and Chesterfield Ave (adjacent to Queen Mary School) in North Vancouver. The workshop is free, to register call 604-987-8138 x 209.
